MEN’S CANCERS
SUPPORT SECTION
We are
pleased to advise that our Men’s cancer support section is now up and running
and we had a very good first meeting on 25th February
supported by three healthcare professionals from the Great Western
Hospital. It was good to see so
many men present, and a really beneficial discussion/ question and answer
session between them and the Healthcare Professionals made the evening an
informative one.
We also
had a very lively discussion at our second meeting on 18th
March when we had a gentleman talking about Macmillan benefits.
Our aim
is to give men the opportunity of talking to other men, in the hope that
they will be more at ease with their problems and find the comfort and
support they need.
Do
please come along to our next meeting. Perhaps you would like to bring
along your suggestions as to what speakers / outings, etc. you, the members, would like to see us
provide for you.
Future meetings are currently planned for:
15th
April - venue changed to The Navy Club, Harding Street.
13th
May, 10th June, 8th July,
9th
September, 7th October, 4th November, and 2nd December .
Venue: Lawn Community Centre, unless
stated otherwise.
Time: 7.30 – 9.30pm
